My Name is Carlos Garcia

I began learning about Architecture during my time in high school, when I enrolled in a program dedicated to designing spaces throughout my town, from horse stables, library spaces, and much more. Currently I have obtained my Bachelor's in Architecture from California College of the arts, located in San Francisco.
Some skills that I have obtained throughout the years are proficiency in programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino3D, Sketchup; programs for rendering such as Enscape, Vray, Lumion, as well as technical skills such as woodworking, Drawing, and even music.

Poroscity is theoretical project that is dedicated to ensuring a safe and sustainable environment for both people and nature. Our latest project involves the creation of a unique community that embraces the coexistence and interaction between humans and hummingbirds. Designed with modern sensibility and traditional aesthetics in mind, rammed earth homes will provide the comfort and security we need while preserving natural habitats for these beautiful creatures. We hope to inspire communities around the world to adopt a sustainable approach in all their endeavours.

Our project is designed to revitalize the San Pablo Avenue block by creating a collective for the community. We believe in the power of bringing together the people, businesses, and cultural heritage to create an environment that fosters regenerative and sustainable growth. With a comprehensive plan for retrofitting the existing block, we assure that the project would be sustainable, creating a self-sufficient ecosystem with the community at its heart. Our project is focused on empowering the Latino community in Boyle Heights. We believe in bringing together the community through food and communal cooking, sharing recipes and techniques to create delicious meals. We understand the importance of building relationships and supporting each other in the pursuit of economic growth and expansion. At our project, we offer the space and resources to not only enhance culinary skills, but also develop and start up businesses within the community.

Drafting and technical details

Having experience from working alongside great designers, my skills include creating technical drawings from floorplans, Elevations, details, as well as putting together Permit sets, and construction Documents.

Design and Innovation

There is no Innovation without critical thinking. When it comes to Design, The approach that I take is one that represents the designer, fits the needs of the client, and respects the habitant.

Rendering & Diagram details

One of the most important steps in design is visual representation, and what a space will look like before brought onto the real world, and my skills include 3d rendering, conceptual rendering, as well as diagrammatic representation.

Model making & woodworking

Other skills that I offer include model making, prototyping and creating components crucial to projects. This includes 3d Printing, CNC Milling, as well as experimenting with Materials and processes. I also enjoy woodworking!
