Garibaldi Plaza is a Residential community designed to combat the rising cost of property prices in Boyle Heights, Gentrification, and home displacement. by encouraging a collective mindset, the communal spaces can be utilized for personal events, Entrepreneurial growth, community events, and much more at the southeast of the site, where a community kitchen has been designed to connect Garibaldi Plaza to the adjacent and the popular mariachi Plaza, where the community gathers around for events. The first floor contains 2 three bedroom apartments capable of housing up to 6 people, the second level contains 4 one bedroom apartments capable of housing 1-2 people, and the 4th level contains 4 two bedroom apartments similar to the first level. The design of the project is based of the culture of immigrant families, who
come to the United states with a above average size of family members. Boyle heights is a community that is ran by immigrant families and therefore the designs should belong to them.
